WHAT IS CBD?
CBD is Cannabidiol, a compound found in the hemp plant, alongside CBG, CBNA and CBCA. Using CBD oil allows you to have more control over the endocannabinoid system, the network of neurotransmitters that regulates mood, appetite, pain, memory and wellbeing. CBD is psychoactive and is associated with the positive therapeutic properties of cannabis, and none of the negative properties that can cause intoxicating or psychotropic effects. Unlike THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol), CBD is non-psychotropic. It does not get you high.
DOES HYTN CBD CONTAIN ANY THC?
No. THC – also known as tetrahydrocannabinol – is a mind-altering ingredient found in the cannabis plant, which gives marijuana its psychoactive properties. Many people wrongly believe that CBD products can contain 0.2% THC but this relates to cultivated hemp and actually has no relevance to CBD products where the allowed level is actually 0%. We say 0% but the Home Office Advice points to a total of 1mg in any product. That total is for both THC and CBN combined (in fact there are 12 controlled cannabinoids which make up this total but let’s try to keep things simple). So if 0.2% is false what does 1mg look like. 1mg equates to 0.001% which is why we test for THC and CBD to 0.0000 and greater. So when we say zero we mean we have tested further and deeper than other brands and there is none! Unlike full-spectrum & broad-spectrum oils, HYTN products are CBD Isolate which is the purest form of CBD, and we test the THC content to four decimal places, unlike most brands who test to just two decimals, ensuring extreme purity. This means HYTN CBD Isolate, unlike broad spectrum and full spectrum CBD, is the purest form of CBD so you get the highest-quality drop after drop. Full spectrum CBD contains all cannabinoids naturally found in the hemp plant, including THC and broad-spectrum CBD contains multiple cannabinoids found in the hemp plant but no THC. Both full spectrum and broad-spectrum oils are harder to control the levels of THC and thus cannot match or guarantee the same levels of purity as HYTN CBD Isolate.
CAN HYTN CBD GET YOU HIGH?
No, all of our products use CBD Isolate which is refined so that the THC trace is guaranteed to be below 0.000%. This ensures that no HYTN product will make you feel ‘high’ or intoxicated.
IS HYTN CBD LEGAL?
Yes, HYTN CBD is legal. All HYTN CBD products are lab-tested and contain less than 0.000% THC. We can demonstrate our CBD is the purest and premium. Please refer to the lab reports for more information.
CAN I TAKE HYTN CBD AND DRIVE?
Yes. All HYTN products are extremely refined and the THC trace is extremely low, making it perfectly safe to drive while using any CBD oil.
CAN I TAKE CBD WHEN TRAVELLING ABROAD?
In the U.K. CBD products are legal, so you can take our products on domestic flights. As for international flights, it’s best to check the legality of CBD in the country you’re planning to fly to.
WILL HYTN CBD SHOW UP ON A DRUG TEST?
No. If you consume CBD oil, you should not test positive for cannabis on a workplace drug test. Workplace drug tests are testing for THC and its metabolites. All HYTN products are UK regulated to contain 0.000% or less THC.
HOW LONG DOES HYTN CBD TAKE TO WORK?
HYTN has the highest CBD purity and bioavailability rate in oils. In order to be effective CBD has to reach your endocannabinoid system. This means it first needs to be absorbed into your bloodstream, otherwise known as bioavailability. How much CBD that gets absorbed and used per drop depends on a process known as pharmacokinetics. This is how compounds are processed by the body. Simply, pharmacokinetics refer to the sum of your body’s mechanism for absorption and elimination, the characteristics of CBD itself and the application of CBD. For the most efficient and effective application of CBD we suggest sublingual application as it gives you the highest bioavailability rate. It simply involves placing CBD oil under your tongue – where the large blood vessels are close to the surface – allowing it to cross the thin membrane and enter directly into your bloodstream. The fast absorption and higher bioavailability rate means you should experience the effects quickly, reaping the benefits of CBD just 15-30 minutes after squeezing the drop from the pipette. To note, CBD absorption is 3-5 times better when taken with food compared to an empty stomach. Consuming CBD oil during or after a meal also slows down the clearance rate in which CBD is removed from the blood. This ensures the absorption and the effectiveness of the CBD is felt for longer.
WHO CAN TAKE HYTN CBD?
You must be at least 18+ years of age to purchase any HYTN CBD products.
IS THERE A RISK OF AN ALLERGIC REACTION WHEN TAKING A CBD PRODUCT?
All CBD products are safe and “well tolerated with a good safety profile”, according to the World Health Organisation’s 2017 Report. However, when introducing any new lifestyle medications to your daily routine you must speak to your healthcare professional if you are taking any other medications. If you’re new to CBD limit your daily intake to 10mg.
WHAT ARE THE STORAGE GUIDELINES FOR HYTN CBD PRODUCTS?
We advise that you keep all HYTN CBD products in its original packaging to prevent unnecessary exposure to light, air or external factors. Store all oils at room temperature, which is typically around 60 to 70°F (16 to 21°C) and in a dark place away from light, such as a pantry, cupboard, or closet. Keep out of reach of children.
CAN I TAKE CBD WHILST EXERCISING?
Yes, CBD is perfectly safe to take while exercising. When it comes to taking prior to exercise, research suggests that CBD products ease anxiety symptoms and allow for better focus through a workout. However, the benefits of CBD products are particularly suited to post-exercise. A host of research suggests that CBD can be used to aid recovery, inflammation and pain relief. In terms of recovery, CBD is thought to soften the delayed onset muscle soreness and the accompanying pain and immobility. This is thanks to its ability to help with inflammation that is sometimes the body’s response to exercise.
CAN CBD HELP WITH HANGOVERS?
One of the most positive effects of CBD is its ability to act on the body’s endocannabinoid system. The endocannabinoid system self-regulates to changes inside and outside of the body to achieve biological balance. Also known as the ECS, the endocannabinoid system plays a pivotal role in the way your body functions and restoring balance through its indirect interaction with CB1 and CB2 receptors — the root of its many health benefits. CBD is a powerful antioxidant and research suggests that it is believed to help with alleviating typical alcohol hangover systems such as brain fog, dehydration and nausea and vomiting.
IS CBD ADDICTIVE?
No, CBD is not addictive. According to a report from the World Health Organization, “In humans, CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential. To date, there is no evidence of public health related problems associated with the use of pure CBD”.
WHERE DOES HYTN SOURCE ITS CBD AND HOW IS IT MADE?
We’re proud to say we can account for our CBD from seed to shelf. We check and track the product from source until the final product. All HYTN CBD is grown at the hemp farm in Zurich, Switzerland before it’s shipped to our research facility where we use the latest technology to extract the high-grade CBD. Our extraction process uses a minimally invasive, chemical-free non-hazardous extraction process to extract the cannabinoids in as few steps as possible. All cannabinoids are extracted individually to yield clear and clean distillates that are 99.5% pure minimum. This is done by controlling the pressure and temperature of distillation in a process known as short-path distillation. Short-path distillation is specifically suited to cannabis oil distillation because it avoids thermal decomposition of the volatile cannabinoids. We feel this is the most natural way to extract the cannabinoids. In the same facility we also conduct thorough research and breed new strains to keep us at the cutting edge of the cannabis industry. This allows us to produce the highest-quality CBD products possible. Our standard operating protocol is to routinely check and track the product until it is in your hands. This is supported by CBD lab reports that detail and outlines the qualities of CBD oil. Each Certificate of Analysis (COA) is linked to the expert test results of a reputable third-party laboratory. Batch numbers are available to provide full transparency in the manufacturing process. Our testing is sophisticated and ensures the purest levels of CBD. We proudly present all of our COAs for you to read for yourself.
WHAT MAKES HYTN DIFFERENT TO OTHER CBD BRANDS?
Most CBD companies test their products for THC to two decimal places. We test our THC content to 1000th of a milligram, which is four decimal places. This ensures that all our products are categorised as CBD Isolate, 99.5% pure minimum as well as being free from pesticides, herbicides, chemical fertilisers and solvents. Unlike a lot of CBD companies, we see our product design as an integral part of what we do. Our bottles are matte black to protect the integrity of the CBD inside, whereas a lot of other CBD companies use amber or clear bottles that can shorten the oil’s shelf life. Also, the pipettes in our bottles are marked with a milligram measurement to give you precise control of your dosage down to every last drop. The slanted pipette edge and wiper seal also allow for easier placement under your tongue, greater accuracy, consistency and to prevent wasted drips. Enabling you to enrich every moment.
WHAT IS THE ENTOURAGE EFFECT?
The entourage effect proposes the idea that CBD is more effective when it is ingested with other cannabinoids at the same time. The presence of other cannabinoids – such as CBN and CBDV – as well as terpenes like myrcene and beta-caryophyllene, amplify the activity of CBD and its influence on various physiological systems in the body. When you purchase standard CBD oil, you are buying the compound in an isolated form with no other cannabinoids attached. Using the whole hemp plant, full spectrum CBD contains all of the naturally occurring cannabinoids in the cannabis plant, along with trace amounts of THC. The problem with full and broad spectrum CBD is that you cannot guarantee consistency. All HYTN products are 99.5% pure minimum.
WHAT IS HYTN CBD ISOLATE?
Due to our specialist extraction process that removes any harmful metals, pesticides and of course THC, we take out some of the rich and beneficial phytocannabinoids that come with a broad or full spectrum product. In order to maximise the effects of CBD and amplify the entourage effect, we have sampled a wide range of terpene blends to ensure all HYTN products benefit from a tailored cannabinoid formulation to help your CBD function in the most efficient way. Our own premium blend that includes selective and precious terpenes to mimic the entourage effect ensures we produce the purest and best possible CBD isolate. Resulting in a consistent, highly pure product with no cannabinoids present.
WHAT ARE TERPENES?
Terpenes are the primary elements of the essential oils in plants and are responsible for the plants unique flavour and aroma. Terpenes are incredibly strong compounds that plants produce to repel pests and attract pollinators. They’re responsible for a wide range of scents; from the uplifting tonnes of citrus fruits to the soothing aroma of lavender. Terpenes are also antioxidants and have a variety of anti-inflammatory properties.
WHY ARE TERPENES IMPORTANT?
CBD is not solely responsible for the beneficial effects it produces in the body. Terpenes amplify the activity of CBD and its influence on various physiological systems, working in synergy with the endocannabinoid system to bring therapeutic benefits in order to produce what is commonly known as the ‘entourage effect.’ The interactions between CBD and terpenes has shown to have a multitude of beneficial effects from anti-anxiety, sedative and antimicrobial effects to boosting energy, improving respiratory function, anti-inflammation, enhancing focus and memory as well as anti-proliferative activity.
